Hello chaps. Thank you to you all who have loved and supported Chris Wreh and the Soul Rebels!! We love you too massive but we have to finish our tour for now! Rebels will be back, Rebels will be back. To see you all at the shows was a beautiful thing and I hope we can hold together for more!! Soul Rebels owe you!

I have decided to start writing again though now that the music stops and am back with the blog to say hello to all old friends and companions. We have swept it up and wound it down,but now I think that this will be back for good. I'm now Indonesia, back in the football, trying to get the fitness up with Perseman. Solid as a rock, it has been two years since i've played but play. Whilst I stay in Indonesia I will try to write a travel blog. I have many stories to tell - the soul rebels made it to Japan, to China and even to Greenland: I-Ching!

Good evening chaps! I've returned to these kind shores to write again, it has been a hurricane of a few months! But we shall wander and wiggle through these times. This is only a quick message to say good day. I shall be here much more often for the next weeks. My days now are no longer filled with soccer - but I have returned to my other passion, the music. Touring with my band the Soul Rebels across Europe - thank you to all who have come to see!! I shall be back, my love friends.

Hard cracking?

I must apologise once again friends, for it has been several weeks since I posted here on this board, this shmorgasboard. Unfortunately it's just a quick stop by to say hello and greet good friends, but I shall be writing much more soon. Thank you so much to all for many questions and comments, I shall make sure to answer you all, I really do appreciate it. We shall spill, and discuss! Another trophy for the rip roaring gunners, and what a night in Istan-bully!

The Real Chris Wreh!

Well, I am Christopher Wreh, Liberian, professional, footballer, father, brother, husband and human. It makes me sad that some see this as an elaboration or hinking joke. It reminds me of the story of the apple boy. The apple boy had always eaten apples, delicious ones too. He used to have one for breakfast and two for brunch. But he had never eaten a pineapple. When our friend saw a pineapple, he imagined it would taste much like an apple. Since both are from the apple family! So he tasted the pineapple, and it did not taste of apple, but was a very different flavour – exotic pineapple! He could not understand it, and did not believe that the pineapple was in fact an apple. It was too different from his expectations.

Today was a good day, a good night of international football. I always love to sit down with a glass of cerveza on international night and enjoy the spectacles. Very nice spectacles. It is also nice to have been visited by many friends here again, it is nice for us to share and enjoy together. Please let me know what you would like to talk about guys, Arsenal? English football? Life? Love? Sex? It’s up to you, otherwise I shall just ramble. Its nice to be writing.

Jive?

I apologise friends, for having let this site pop over the last few weeks without notice. It was not my plan, but neither was anything that has happened lately! I have felt bad for letting people down, but now Chris Wreh writes, and cats I hope you’re there. Let me explain where I’ve been…..

It all started with the electric Kool-Aid Acid Test. Yes, peculiar indeed – but cousin Samatra lent me a copy of the book. I was only a squiggler in the 60s, and the only thing that swam over to Liberia was some of the music “Hey Jude, Don’t make it sad”, I will not! I was too busy soccer kicking and Jazz fishing. So opening the first page of this I was blind, but every word I read got louder and louder, till I was dancing. Strange indeed. But Ken Kesey and his merry men, drugged out of there minds spoke to Chris Wreh. The power of following your heart is strong. And I decided I wanted to play football again in England.

It was England that made me love the game, and I want one last taste before I retire. So I asked some friends I have there if they knew of any chances. I have one with Swindon, a beautiful club, soft like chinchillas. The people are great, and the fans so warm. It is good to be back, playing, and in England. Of course I had to tell the wife, but I stopped listening to her many days ago.

So I have been away, and have been chasing, but now I am back and want to write as much as I can. I hope you stay with me, and we can share experience again. It’s good to be back friends, thank you for your kind words, I will not leave you again!

Christopher Wreh bites what?

Sunny days!

Like most men, I left my planning for my anniversary till the last minute. I had a day to get the darn thing organised, and spent yesterday running around like a malaka! The sun must have been shining though because it all went off without a hitch. We had a lovely dinner together, and shared the rest of the evening out on the river. I didnt even get a slap this time!

Saturday night is here! Milky - Hope your going down to JR's tonight! I used to head down when I got the chance, good clean fun! I think im going to find it hard to have a real topic to my weekend posts. My head seems to switch off from constructive thought! I hope your all having a good time tonight, we have as much right to the world as everyone else, so lets get out there, take some - and enjoy it friends! Im going for a boogy and perhaps a jive. Hopefully I'll hear that new trick daddy song - sugar, thats Chris Wreh's song right now!

Sorry for not responding to you guys yesterday, It was frantic! I think I did more exercise yesterday than I used to on the training pitch! Id like to say thank you to GC and SurreyGooner, whose words I found really encouraging, it's always good to hear from other Gunners. My fingers are crossed for tommorow, think the boys will be fine though and hopefully Sol and Lauren's new contracts will give all the boys a boost. It always gave me a lift when you knew your biggest players were staying commited to the team.

I've e-mailed Arseblogger - let's see what he thinks!

I left Bishop's for a few reasons. Although I really enjoyed playing for the club - there's a real passion to the place and they've got a great little set of fans! I felt I wasn't really doing myself justice. My fitness isnt what it used to be - too many dinners like last night - one hell of a big bowl of chocolate mousse! Plus a few niggling injuries have taken there toll. I didnt feel I could really express myself as I'd like to on the pitch anymore. You've gotta know when it's your time to move on, and it was mine.

But now a new chapter begins, and Id like to think we're all in it. I've definitely pondered coaching or scouting; but I think that's something I might comeback to. I fancy a vacation from the football world, and it's time to find a new place on Planet Earth!

My internet connection is playing silly salmons again, and Im scared im not going to get this up in time, so im going to have to cut this short. Any questions, of course ask! I hope your still enjoying the site, and having a great weekend. All the best friends,

Hello Chaps!

Tonight is celebration time! Cousin George is fixing the drinks, and the cheese plate is ready!

It is mine and Sylvia's anniversary!

Today has been very busy, trying to fix everything last minute and the wife will be here in about five minutes! Im sorry my friends but I am in such a hurry I dont have time to write back to you today, but thank you so much for your kind words! I hope you are all enjoying the weekend, it's finally here! Maybe we can get some hip hopping in?

What Next?

Bienvenido!

It's day three my friends, and this blogging business certainly seems to be a learning curve! Didnt get much feedback to yesterday's post, so i'm guessing you guys found it a little boring. Im not surprised my wife read it then slapped me. I must confess, I'm a footballing geek but we're going to move on from there, I've never liked football pundits - so I'm damn well not going to turn into one! Do you think Alan Hansen should be the next James Bond?

Today we come together.

I got asked yesterday whether I'm finding it difficult to keep my fitness since retiring from the game. The question is very relevant to my current situation - where does a footballer go when he stops playing football? Where's Christopher Wreh's place in the world. Hopefully we will find out jazz cats.

Compared to most footballers, it was very difficult for me to keep my fitness levels at those required in the professional game. I put on weight very easily, but love to eat! Especially cheese! This combination wasn't something my manager's loved too much! Luckily though, the good habits I made during my years in the game have kept me in good stead and i try to maintain a sensible diet. Im a bit cuddly Christopher though! And although I dont get all the exercise I used to; I still get in some good hip hopping and If I pulled on that red and white again, I reckon I could give John Terry a good kicking!

A bigger problem sits with me though; I might still be fit but where does Chris Wreh go next. I was very lucky that I never had to consider this when I was younger, I had a talent that gave me a great opportunity and so I had to take it. I never had to try and work out my place in the world. But now I do! It makes me realise how difficult it must be for young people all over the world - who really dont know what to dedicate there lives to. Yet it is also very exciting!

So, I'd like to ask you my friends. What do you think I should go into? I am open to everything the world has to offer! The wife doesnt agree but I think I make a good talk show host. Discuss.

I shall write back soon, but now it is cooking time!

So! The Journey begins......and im glad some of you are joining me so early - we dont even know where we're going yet! Thank you to everyone who left a comment, It was warming to receive feedback so early.

There are many questions to be answered on this long and winding road. The people want to talk Arsenal! So We Talk Arsenal!

Of all the teams I've had the pleasure to be a part of, I'll always hold 'the gunners' closest to my heart. I'll never forget the opportunity I got there, and I wear the red men with me. Although much has changed since my time there, I still visit Highbury stadium from time to time, sometimes getting recognised and hearing chants of that funny nickname "The Baron".

I try to keep up to date, and for some peculiar reason I like to read the English media. They seem to portray the club's current situation as a crisis, and many fans seem to fear the team is spiralling negatively too. However I am a man who believes in positivity, and carrying a sense of pride - particularly when it is justified. And Arsenal fans, we have a reason to feel both!

You see, firstly I think we as a people should recognise that the standard was raised in the FA Premier League last season. Contrary to what De La Soul may have sung, six and not three was the magic number during my time in England. Indeed in 1998, all one had to do was switch on the television to see many a manager or pundit talk of the mystical maximum of six games a team could lose and still be champions. Today I think that number is much closer to three, if not two, and far fewer draws are possible too! This increase in consistency was brought about by Arsenal in 2003-04, who had a season of unparalleled league success. The standard was raised, spurring the question of whether such a season could ever be repeated - by Arsenal or by anyone? Or would the premier league's future champions need only to perform at previous levels - where losing six games was possible?

Reviewing the situation now, it is clear Chelsea have come close to matching the Arsenal of last season, whilst Manchester United and Arsenal have returned to the level of consistency that would have won championships pre-2003-2004. Why is this? We shall discuss...

But fans should feel pride as only a team with infinite resources has been able to get near the standards set by Arsenal last season! Smile! No other team in English league history has been able to match that consistency, and we have raised the standard required in the English league. Even if Chelsea win every game from now till the end of the season, they still will not have matched the brilliance and unparalleled consistency of the Arsenal of 2003-04! I will elaborate later on whether it is possible to expect a team with finite resources such as Arsenal to continue such extraodinary form. Premier league history suggests championship form for a 'real' football club results in a points total in the early eighties rather than early nineties. So Was 2003-04 an anomaly? We'll talk about this and where I think the team is heading but for now my internet connection is a little tasty, and I may have to say goodbye for tonight. I think this week we shall talk all about Arsenal - this season, last season, Any Season! Hope you're enjoying my site, and the start of our journey.
